This is a working draft covering Rendict's actual data practices as of the date above. It has not been reviewed by a lawyer. Have it reviewed for your jurisdiction (and updated if practices change — e.g. adding new analytics or ad tools) before relying on it as your sole privacy disclosure.

What this policy covers

This policy explains what information Rendict collects when you visit rendict.com, why, and what choices you have. Rendict does not require you to create an account or provide personal information to read the site.

Information we collect

Analytics

We use analytics tools (such as Google Analytics 4) to understand how visitors use the site — pages viewed, time on page, general location (city/country level), device and browser type, and referring site. This data is aggregated and not used to identify you individually. Analytics tools use cookies or similar technology; you can block these via your browser settings or a browser extension without affecting your ability to read the site.

Newsletter

If you subscribe to our newsletter, we collect your email address and share it with our email delivery provider (Beehiiv) solely to send you the newsletter. You can unsubscribe at any time via the link in every email, which removes you from the list.

Affiliate links

Product links on this site are often affiliate links. When you click one, the destination retailer or affiliate network (e.g. Amazon Associates) may set its own cookie to track that the click came from Rendict, so we can earn a commission on a resulting purchase at no cost to you. We don't receive or store any details about what you purchase — that data stays with the retailer and the affiliate network. See our Affiliate Disclosure for more on how this works.

Server logs

Our hosting provider (Vercel) automatically logs standard technical information for every request — IP address, user agent, timestamp — for security and reliability purposes. These logs are retained for a limited period and are not used for tracking individuals across visits.

What we don't do

We don't sell your personal information. We don't require account creation. We don't knowingly collect information from children under 13, and this site is not directed at children.

Your choices

• Choose “Essential only” on the cookie banner shown on your first visit, or change your choice at any time via “Cookie Preferences” in the footer.
• Unsubscribe from the newsletter at any time via the link in any email.
• Block or clear cookies in your browser at any time.
• Request details of what we hold about you, or request deletion, by emailing us (see Contact below) — this mainly applies to your newsletter subscription, since we don't otherwise store personal data tied to an identity.

International visitors: UK/EU GDPR and Canada's PIPEDA

Rendict is read by visitors across the UK, EU, Canada, and elsewhere. If UK GDPR, EU GDPR, or Canada's PIPEDA applies to you, the following applies in addition to everything above:

Legal basis for processing

• Analytics: legitimate interest — understanding aggregate site usage to improve content, weighed against your privacy (you can opt out by blocking cookies/scripts, per Your choices above).
• Newsletter: your consent, given when you subscribe. You can withdraw it at any time by unsubscribing.
• Affiliate link tracking: legitimate interest in operating our commission-based business model, which is what keeps this site free to read.

Your rights

Subject to applicable law, you have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you
• Correct inaccurate data
• Request erasure of your data (“right to be forgotten”)
• Restrict or object to certain processing
• Receive your data in a portable format
• Lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority — in the UK, that's the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO).

To exercise any of these, contact us (see Contact below). In practice, the personal data we hold that's tied to an identifiable person is limited to your email address if you've subscribed to the newsletter — analytics and affiliate-click data are aggregate/pseudonymous and not something we can look up by name or email.

International data transfers

Our hosting (Vercel), database (Supabase), analytics, and newsletter providers may process data on servers outside your country, including in the United States. Where required, we rely on those providers' own standard contractual clauses or equivalent safeguards for cross-border transfers.

Changes to this policy

If our data practices change materially (for example, adding a new analytics or advertising integration), we'll update this page and the “Last updated” date above.
